Guardianship is the legal term to describe the process or right of custody over an individual. Guardianship cases arise for children, elderly or the disabled when these individuals cannot care for themselves or they need special supervision. Guardianship cases also arise when there is question regarding who has custody over an individual, for example the case of a child without parents or an incapacitated single senior.
Because each individual’s personal and family situation is different, Guardianship proceedings may become contentious and drawn out. Please call our office to set up your free consultation to discuss your options.
